45th Ormskirk (Burscough Methodist) Scouts

Welcome to our page.

Scouting is about giving children fantastic opportunities to do lots of activities and things that people who are not in Scouts don’t get to do. It’s about having fun and making life long friends.

If you think Scouting’s just about knots, woggles and big shorts, then be prepared to be surprised. its how Richard Branson, Barack Obama and David Beckham got their start in life and you can benefit too.

Every year the Scouting Association helps 400,000 young people in the UK enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors, interact with other, gain confidence and have the oppurtunity to reach their full potential.

And its not just young people who can get in on the action. Working alongside our youth members are thousands of adult volunteers, with a huge variety of roles and opportunities available.

If this sounds like something you would like to do then come and visit your local group at Burscough Methodist Church Hall on Orrell Lane, Burscough. If you want more information don’t hesitate to contact us at marjpotter@live.co.uk.

Covid -19 Outbreak

The Scout Association have announced this evening that all face to face meetings and activities are to cease as from tomorrow Tuesday 17th March 2020 until further notice.
I will be sending an email to all sections and will keep you up to date when we receive further information.
The health and safety of our members are always of the utmost importance especially at this time of uncertainty and we need to take into consideration the wider impact on all friends ,family and the wider community.
Leaders will be looking at the programme and putting together some badge work the children can do at home.

We concluded our experiment badge this week as we mixed Coca Cola with mentos and bicarbonate of soda, we watched lovely patterns in milk, food colouring and Fairy Liquid and finally we extinguished a candle flame using a bottle with bicarbonate of soda and vinegar inside. Very interesting and enjoyed by all. πŸ‘ ... See MoreSee Less
